مُحَمَّد حَنَّان يُصْلِحُ السَّاعَاتِ فِي الدَّوْحَةِ. مَكَانُ عَمَلِهِ صُنْدُوقٌ خَشَبِيٌّ صَغِيرٌ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ الْمَنْصُورَةِ. وَهُوَ يُصْلِحُ كُلَّ أَنْوَاعِ السَّاعَاتِ. مُحَمَّدٌ مِنْ بَنْغْلَادِيشَ. كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مَحَلٌّ صَغِيرٌ لِلسَّاعَاتِ فِي بَلَدِهِ. وَفِي سَنَةِ ٢٠٠٠، جَاءَ إِلَى قَطَرَ. كَانَ لَا يَعْرِفُ اللُّغَةَ الْعَرَبِيَّةَ. فِي أَوَّلِ أَيَّامِهِ، قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ قَطَرِيٍّ: أَنَا جَدِيدٌ هُنَا. فَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّجُلُ مِئَةَ رِيَالٍ. وَبَقِيَتِ الْمِئَةُ مَعَهُ اثْنَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا! يَقُولُ مُحَمَّدٌ: لَا أَنْسَى هَذَا الرَّجُلَ أَبَدًا. يُحْضِرُ الزَّبَائِنُ سَاعَاتِهِمْ إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ. وَيُصْلِحُ أَحْيَانًا سَاعَاتٍ غَالِيَةً جِدًّا. وَعِنْدَمَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ إِصْلَاحَ السَّاعَةِ، يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ لِلزَّبُونِ. وَيَقُولُ لَهُ: اذْهَبْ بِهَا إِلَى شَرِكَةِ السَّاعَةِ. يَعْمَلُ مُحَمَّدٌ فِي قَطَرَ مِنْ أَجْلِ عَائِلَتِهِ فِي بَنْغْلَادِيشَ. عِنْدَهُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَوْلَادٍ، وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ لَهُمْ مَدَارِسَ جَيِّدَةً. ابْنُهُ الْكَبِيرُ فِي الصَّفِّ الْعَاشِرِ. وَهُوَ يَزُورُ عَائِلَتَهُ مَرَّةً فِي السَّنَةِ. يَقُولُ: أَهْلُ قَطَرَ طَيِّبُونَ، وَعِنْدِي أَصْدِقَاءُ كَثِيرُونَ هُنَا.
Muhammad Hannan repairs watches in Doha. His workplace is a small wooden box in the Mansoura area. And he repairs all kinds of watches. Muhammad is from Bangladesh. He had a small watch shop in his country. And in 2000, he came to Qatar. He did not know Arabic. In his first days, he said to a Qatari man: I am new here. So the man gave him a hundred riyals. And the hundred lasted him twenty-two days! Muhammad says: I will never forget this man. Customers bring their watches to Muhammad. And sometimes he repairs very expensive watches. And when he cannot repair the watch, he tells the customer so. And he says to him: take it to the watch’s maker. Muhammad works in Qatar for his family in Bangladesh. He has three children, and he wants good schools for them. His eldest son is in Year 10. And he visits his family once a year. He says: the people of Qatar are kind, and I have many friends here.
