About these texts
A1 texts are for readers who know the alphabet and can read simple words, even slowly. Nusoos names its levels A1 to C1 after the CEFR bands; the library can also show each text’s own CEFR band, and no level here is a certificate.
Most A1 texts follow one person or one place. In Ayah Drives the Train a young woman from Makkah drives the high-speed train between Makkah and Madinah; in Nura Plays Padel a former tennis player finds a padel club in Riyadh; and in A Museum of Old Things a collector in Nasiriyah opens a museum of the things he gathered over twenty years. The sentences are short and the vowel marks are written in, so you can work through a text line by line.
