مَحْمِيَّةُ السَّلَاحِفِ فِي عُمَانَ

هَذِهِ مَحْمِيَّةٌ لِلسَّلَاحِفِ فِي عُمَانَ. اسْمُهَا مَحْمِيَّةُ رَأْسِ الْحَدِّ. هِيَ فِي شَرْقِ عُمَانَ. وَهِيَ مَكَانٌ مُهِمٌّ لِلسَّلَاحِفِ فِي الْمُحِيطِ الْهِنْدِيِّ. تَأْتِي السَّلَاحِفُ الْخَضْرَاءُ إِلَيْهَا كُلَّ سَنَةٍ. هِيَ تَأْتِي مِنَ الْخَلِيجِ وَالْبَحْرِ الْأَحْمَرِ وَالصُّومَالِ. وَهَذِهِ السَّلَاحِفُ فِي خَطَرٍ. تَضَعُ السَّلَاحِفُ بَيْضَهَا عَلَى الشَّاطِئِ. مَوْسِمُ وَضْعِ الْبَيْضِ يَبْدَأُ فِي الصَّيْفِ. وَيَسْتَمِرُّ خَمْسَةَ أَشْهُرٍ. فِي الْمَوْسِمِ تَحْمِي الْمَحْمِيَّةُ الشَّوَاطِئَ. شَوَاطِئُهَا رَمْلِيَّةٌ وَطَبِيعِيَّةٌ. فِي اللَّيْلِ تَخْرُجُ السُّلَحْفَاةُ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ. هِيَ تَحْفِرُ حُفْرَةً فِي الرَّمْلِ وَتَضَعُ فِيهَا بَيْضَهَا. ثُمَّ تُغَطِّي الْبَيْضَ بِالرَّمْلِ وَتَرْجِعُ إِلَى الْبَحْرِ. يَأْتِي زُوَّارٌ كَثِيرُونَ لِرُؤْيَةِ السَّلَاحِفِ. فِي الْمَحْمِيَّةِ جَوْلَاتٌ مَعَ مُرْشِدِينَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ. الْجَوْلَةُ الْأُولَى فِي الْمَسَاءِ. وَالْجَوْلَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ فِي الصَّبَاحِ الْبَاكِرِ. الْمُرْشِدُونَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِي حِمَايَةِ السَّلَاحِفِ. فِي الْجَوْلَةِ يَرَى الزُّوَّارُ السَّلَاحِفَ وَبَيْضَهَا. وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنَ الْمُرْشِدِينَ عَنْ حَيَاةِ السَّلَاحِفِ. وَيَحْصُلُونَ عَلَى تَعْلِيمَاتٍ لِحِمَايَةِ بَيْضِ السَّلَاحِفِ. وَبَعْدَ أَسَابِيعَ تَخْرُجُ سَلَاحِفُ صَغِيرَةٌ مِنَ الْبَيْضِ. وَهِيَ تَمْشِي عَلَى الرَّمْلِ إِلَى الْبَحْرِ.

This is a reserve for turtles in Oman. Its name is the Ras al Hadd Reserve. It is in the east of Oman. And it is an important place for turtles in the Indian Ocean. Green turtles come to it every year. They come from the Gulf, the Red Sea and Somalia. And these turtles are in danger. The turtles lay their eggs on the beach. The egg-laying season starts in summer. And it lasts five months. During the season, the reserve protects the beaches. Its beaches are sandy and natural. At night the turtle comes out of the sea. She digs a hole in the sand and lays her eggs in it. Then she covers the eggs with sand and goes back to the sea. Many visitors come to see the turtles. The reserve has tours with guides every day. The first tour is in the evening. And the second tour is in the early morning. The guides work to protect the turtles. On the tour, the visitors see the turtles and their eggs.
