In Palestine there is a music conservatory, called “the Edward Said Conservatory”. The conservatory has branches in Jerusalem, Ramallah and Bethlehem. In the three branches there are students who learn to play the piano. And the conservatory wants music to reach every home in Palestine. At the end of March 2019, there were concerts for piano students in the branches. The concerts went on for three days. Twenty boys and girls played in them. And Dina Al-Shalleh, the head of the piano department, supervised the students. Some students played alone. And sometimes two students played together on one piano. And about four hundred people came to hear the music, among them the students’ families. And at the concerts, students from Jerusalem, Ramallah and Bethlehem got to know each other. And they shared what they had learned about playing.
