هَذَا سُوقُ السَّمَكِ فِي الْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةِ. هُوَ فِي حَيِّ السَّيَّالَةِ. هَذَا الْحَيُّ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ. وَالْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةُ مَدِينَةٌ كَبِيرَةٌ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ. يَصِلُ الصَّيَّادُونَ إِلَى السُّوقِ فِي الصَّبَاحِ الْبَاكِرِ. وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ شِبَاكَ الصَّيْدِ. يَضَعُونَ السَّمَكَ عَلَى أَلْوَاحٍ خَشَبِيَّةٍ. السَّمَكُ طَازَجٌ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ. وَالْمُشْتَرِي يَرَى السَّمَكَ أَمَامَهُ. فِي السُّوقِ أَنْوَاعٌ كَثِيرَةٌ مِنَ السَّمَكِ. هُنَاكَ سَمَكٌ كَبِيرٌ وَسَمَكٌ صَغِيرٌ. وَهُنَاكَ أَيْضًا سَرَطَانُ الْبَحْرِ. لَا يَبِيعُ الصَّيَّادُونَ السَّمَكَ بِالْكِيلُو. هُمْ يَبِيعُونَهُ بِاللَّوْحِ الْخَشَبِيِّ. وَيَبْدَأُ الْبَيْعُ بَعْدَ وُصُولِ الصَّيَّادِينَ. وَالْبَيْعُ بِالْمَزَادِ. يَأْتِي إِلَى السُّوقِ تُجَّارٌ كَثِيرُونَ. وَيَأْتِي أَصْحَابُ الْمَطَاعِمِ أَيْضًا. يَشْتَرِي النَّاسُ السَّمَكَ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ. فِي الْحَيِّ عُمَّالٌ كَثِيرُونَ. هُمْ يُنَظِّفُونَ السَّمَكَ وَيَطْبُخُونَهُ. وَيَزُورُ السُّوقَ سُيَّاحٌ كَثِيرُونَ. يَصِلُ النَّاسُ إِلَى الْحَيِّ بِالتِّرَامِ الْقَدِيمِ. حَوْلَ السُّوقِ دَكَاكِينُ لِأَدَوَاتِ الصَّيْدِ. يَشْتَرِي الصَّيَّادُونَ مِنْهَا الشِّبَاكَ. ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ الصَّيَّادُونَ إِلَى الْبَحْرِ. وَفِي الصَّبَاحِ يَبْدَأُ السُّوقُ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ.
This is the fish market in Alexandria. It is in the Sayala district. This district is near the sea. Alexandria is a big city on the sea. The fishermen arrive at the market early in the morning. They carry fishing nets. They put the fish on wooden boards. The fish is fresh every day. And the buyer sees the fish in front of him. In the market there are many kinds of fish. There are big fish and small fish. There are crabs too. The fishermen do not sell the fish by the kilo. They sell it by the wooden board. Selling begins after the fishermen arrive. The selling is by auction. Many traders come to the market. Restaurant owners come too. People buy fish for their homes. In the district there are many workers. They clean the fish and cook it. Many tourists visit the market. People reach the district by the old tram. Around the market there are shops for fishing tools. The fishermen buy nets from them. Then the fishermen go back to the sea. And in the morning, the market begins again.
