In 2011 a new tram started running in the city of Algiers. The first line is in the east of the city, and it goes to Bordj El Kiffan. Less than a month later, twenty thousand passengers were riding it every day. The tram is blue, and its seats are blue too. It has big windows, and it is air-conditioned. Its floor is level with the platform, so everyone gets on easily. The aisles are wide, so there is room for pushchairs. There are thirteen stations on the line. The tram comes every thirteen minutes. And it stops at each station for one minute. And people do not crowd at the stations. Passengers get on one after another, and they do not push. And cars stop when the tram goes by. A ticket costs twenty dinars. The tram runs from six in the morning to nine in the evening. A passenger buys the ticket at the ticket window or on the tram. And on the tram an employee checks the tickets. And all the tram staff wear blue clothes. Hassiba is a woman from Batna, and she lives near the line. Sh
