The Qadisha Valley is in the north of Lebanon. It has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1998. In the valley there are three old walking trails. It also has old monasteries and beautiful scenery. In July, a training course for young people from the area begins in the valley. They are university students. In the training they learn the work of a tour guide. They walk in the valley from early morning. And they study the history of the valley and first aid. Their lessons are in the forest or in a guest house. At the end of the training they receive certificates. And their names reach the local councils. Visitors love walking in the valley. So the young people may find work with them.
