فِي عَمَّانَ، عَاصِمَةِ الْأُرْدُنِّ، مَشْغَلٌ لِفَنِّ الزُّجَاجِ اسْمُهُ «زُجَاجٌ». وَاسْمُ الْمَشْغَلِ هُوَ اسْمُ الْمَادَّةِ الَّتِي يَعْمَلُونَ بِهَا. يَعْمَلُ فِيهِ مَعًا مُؤَسِّسُ الْمَشْغَلِ وَفَنَّانُونَ مِنَ الْأُرْدُنِّ. وَهُمْ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُعِيدُوا الْحَيَاةَ إِلَى فَنِّ الزُّجَاجِ فِي الْأُرْدُنِّ. وَهَذَا الْفَنُّ قَدِيمٌ فِي بِلَادِ الشَّامِ: سُورِيَا وَلُبْنَانَ وَالْأُرْدُنِّ وَفِلَسْطِينَ. خَلْفَ نَوَافِذِ الْمَشْغَلِ الْكَبِيرَةِ، هُنَاكَ لَوْحَاتٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ مِنَ الزُّجَاجِ الْمُلَوَّنِ. وَفِي الْمَشْغَلِ أَيْضًا أَعْمَالٌ أُخْرَى مِنَ الزُّجَاجِ. وَالزُّجَاجُ الْمُلَوَّنُ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى الضَّوْءِ لِكَيْ تَظْهَرَ أَلْوَانُهُ. وَعِنْدَمَا يَدْخُلُ ضَوْءُ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ هَذِهِ اللَّوْحَاتِ، تَمْتَلِئُ الْغُرْفَةُ بِالْأَلْوَانِ. وَيَقْطَعُ الْفَنَّانُونَ الزُّجَاجَ الْمُلَوَّنَ قِطَعًا صَغِيرَةً، ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُونَهَا لِكَيْ تَصْنَعَ صُورَةً. وَيُجَرِّبُونَ أَيْضًا طُرُقًا مُخْتَلِفَةً، مِثْلَ صَهْرِ الزُّجَاجِ فِي الْفُرْنِ، وَالطِّبَاعَةِ عَلَيْهِ، وَلِحَامِ قِطَعِهِ مَعًا. وَزَارَ الْمَشْغَلَ أَيْضًا طُلَّابٌ مِنْ مَدْرَسَةٍ دَوْلِيَّةٍ فِي عَمَّانَ. جَاءَ الطُّلَّابُ مَعَ مُعَلِّمِهِمْ، لِكَيْ يَصْنَعُوا لَوْحَةً لِمَدْرَسَتِهِمْ. وَكَانَتْ هَذِهِ الزِّيَارَةُ فُرْصَةً لِكَيْ يَرَوْا عَمَلَ الْفَنَّانِينَ. وَعَمِلُوا هُنَاكَ بِجَانِبِ مُؤَسِّسِ الْمَشْغَلِ. أَوَّلًا، صَمَّمُوا اللَّوْحَةَ، ثُمَّ رَسَمُوا عَلَيْهَا بِالْأَلْوَانِ. وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَلَّقُوا اللَّوْحَةَ فِي مَدْرَسَتِهِمْ. وَالْآنَ، عِنْدَمَا يَقِفُ الطُّلَّابُ أَمَامَ لَوْحَتِهِمْ، يَرَوْنَ أَلْوَانَهَا فِي الضَّوْءِ.
In Amman, the capital of Jordan, there is a workshop for glass art called “Zujaj” (Glass). And the workshop’s name is the name of the material they work with. The workshop’s founder and artists from Jordan work in it together. And they want to bring glass art in Jordan back to life. And this art is old in the Levant: Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine. Behind the workshop’s big windows, there are panels of coloured glass hanging. And in the workshop there are other glass works too. And coloured glass needs light for its colours to show. And when sunlight comes in through these panels, the room fills with colours. The artists cut coloured glass into small pieces, then put them together to make a picture. They also try different methods, like melting glass in a kiln, printing on it, and soldering its pieces together. And students from an international school in Amman also visited the workshop.
