مِتْرُو الدَّوْحَةِ وَالْمَدَارِسُ

هَذَا مِتْرُو الدَّوْحَةِ. الدَّوْحَةُ عَاصِمَةُ قَطَرَ. لِلْمِتْرُو ثَلَاثَةُ خُطُوطٍ. وَهِيَ الْخَطُّ الْأَحْمَرُ وَالْخَطُّ الْأَخْضَرُ وَالْخَطُّ الذَّهَبِيُّ. وَقِطَارَاتُهُ تَسِيرُ بِلَا سَائِقٍ. تَزُورُ مَدْرَسَةٌ الْمِتْرُو فِي أَوَّلِ السَّنَةِ الدِّرَاسِيَّةِ. يَذْهَبُ التَّلَامِيذُ إِلَى مَحَطَّةِ مُشَيْرِبَ فِي وَسَطِ الدَّوْحَةِ. هِيَ الْمَحَطَّةُ الرَّئِيسِيَّةُ لِلْمِتْرُو. فِيهَا تَلْتَقِي الْخُطُوطُ الثَّلَاثَةُ. الْمَحَطَّةُ كَبِيرَةٌ وَهِيَ تَحْتَ الْأَرْضِ. مَعَ التَّلَامِيذِ مُهَنْدِسُونَ مِنْ قَطَرَ. يَشْرَحُ الْمُهَنْدِسُونَ عَمَلَهُمْ فِي الْمِتْرُو. وَيَسْأَلُ التَّلَامِيذُ عَنِ الْقِطَارِ بِلَا سَائِقٍ. يَصِلُ قِطَارٌ إِلَى الْمَحَطَّةِ. يَقِفُ الْقِطَارُ وَيَفْتَحُ أَبْوَابَهُ وَحْدَهُ. يَتَعَرَّفُ التَّلَامِيذُ عَلَى بِطَاقَاتِ السَّفَرِ وَعَرَبَاتِ الْقِطَارِ. فِي الْقِطَارَاتِ عَرَبَاتٌ عَادِيَّةٌ وَعَرَبَاتٌ ذَهَبِيَّةٌ. وَفِيهَا أَيْضًا عَرَبَاتٌ لِلْعَائِلَاتِ وَالنِّسَاءِ. وَيَتَعَلَّمُ التَّلَامِيذُ قَوَاعِدَ السَّلَامَةِ فِي الْمَحَطَّةِ وَفِي الْقِطَارِ. وَيَتَعَرَّفُونَ عَلَى حَافِلَاتِ الْمِتْرُو الْمَجَّانِيَّةِ. هِيَ تَنْقُلُ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْمَحَطَّاتِ وَمِنْهَا. ثُمَّ يَدْخُلُ التَّلَامِيذُ غُرْفَةَ الْمُرَاقَبَةِ فِي الْمَحَطَّةِ. هُنَاكَ يُرَاقِبُ الْمُوَظَّفُونَ الرُّكَّابَ لِسَلَامَتِهِمْ. وَبَعْدَ الزِّيَارَةِ يَرْجِعُ التَّلَامِيذُ إِلَى مَدْرَسَتِهِمْ.

This is the Doha Metro. Doha is the capital of Qatar. The metro has three lines. They are the Red Line, the Green Line and the Gold Line. Its trains run without a driver. A school visits the metro at the start of the school year. The pupils go to Msheireb Station in the centre of Doha. It is the metro’s main station. The three lines meet there. The station is big, and it is under the ground. Engineers from Qatar are with the pupils. The engineers explain their work on the metro. And the pupils ask about the train without a driver. A train arrives at the station. The train stops and opens its doors by itself. The pupils get to know the travel cards and the train carriages. The trains have standard carriages and gold carriages. They also have carriages for families and women. The pupils also learn the safety rules at the station and on the train. And they get to know the metro’s free buses. They take people to and from the stations. Then the pupils go into the station’s control room
