الْمَاءُ فِي سِجْنَانَ

هَذِهِ سِجْنَانُ فِي شَمَالِ تُونِسَ. فِيهَا تِلَالٌ خَضْرَاءُ وَقُرًى صَغِيرَةٌ. الْيَوْمَ فِي الْبُيُوتِ مَاءٌ. الْمَاءُ يَأْتِي مِنَ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ. النَّاسُ لَا يَحْمِلُونَ الْمَاءَ مِنَ الْبِئْرِ الْآنَ. فَفِي الْقُرَى شَبَكَاتٌ جَدِيدَةٌ وَآبَارٌ عَمِيقَةٌ. فِي سِجْنَانَ مَدْرَسَةٌ ابْتِدَائِيَّةٌ. الْمَدْرَسَةُ الْيَوْمَ مُتَّصِلَةٌ بِشَبَكَةِ الْمَاءِ. وَالْمَاءُ يَجْرِي مِنَ الْحَنَفِيَّاتِ. وَهُوَ نَظِيفٌ. وَالتَّلَامِيذُ يَشْرَبُونَ مِنْهُ. وَفِي قَرْيَةٍ قَرِيبَةٍ تَعِيشُ امْرَأَةٌ. هِيَ تَصْنَعُ الْفَخَّارَ مِنَ الطِّينِ. الْبِئْرُ بَعِيدَةٌ عَنْ بَيْتِهَا. وَالْيَوْمَ الْمَاءُ فِي بَيْتِهَا. فَعِنْدَهَا وَقْتٌ أَكْثَرُ. وَهِيَ تَصْنَعُ قِطَعًا أَكْثَرَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ. فِي الْجِبَالِ تَرْفَعُ الْمِضَخَّاتُ الْمَاءَ إِلَى الْبُيُوتِ. وَالْمِضَخَّاتُ تَعْمَلُ بِطَاقَةِ الشَّمْسِ. فِي مَحَطَّةِ الْمَاءِ أَلْوَاحٌ شَمْسِيَّةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ. وَطَاقَةُ الشَّمْسِ نَظِيفَةٌ وَرَخِيصَةٌ. فِي الصَّبَاحِ تَخْلِطُ الْمَرْأَةُ الطِّينَ بِالْمَاءِ. ثُمَّ تَصْنَعُ مِنْهُ قِطْعَةً جَمِيلَةً. هِيَ تَعْمَلُ بِالطِّينِ مُنْذُ صِغَرِهَا. وَبَعْدَ الْعَمَلِ تَغْسِلُ الثِّيَابَ وَتُنَظِّفُ الْبَيْتَ. وَالْحَيَاةُ فِي الْقُرَى الْيَوْمَ أَسْهَلُ.

And she makes more pieces every day. In the mountains, pumps lift the water up to the houses. And the pumps work with the sun’s energy. At the water station there are many solar panels. And the sun’s energy is clean and cheap. In the morning the woman mixes the clay with water. Then she makes a beautiful piece from it. She has worked with clay since she was a child.
