In it, visitors saw a place that looked like the sea floor. And they also saw a real dugong skeleton. The dugong is a big, calm animal that lives in the sea, and people also call it the “sea cow”. It breathes air like a whale, so it comes up to the surface of the water. And in Qatar’s sea, this animal has lived for thousands of years. And it eats seagrass. And this seagrass grows on the sea floor, in shallow water. Protecting this seagrass is important for its life, because it eats almost nothing else. The dugong eats all day and all night. And it eats large amounts of seagrass every day. It has heavy bones, which help it go down to the sea floor. Then it finds the plants with its rough nose, and takes them to its mouth.
