فِي الْبَحْرَيْنِ سُوقٌ لِلْمُزَارِعِينَ اسْمُهُ «سُوقُ الْمُزَارِعِ الْبَحْرَيْنِيِّ». السُّوقُ فِي حَدِيقَةِ الْبُدَيِّعِ النَّبَاتِيَّةِ، وَهُوَ يَفْتَحُ أَبْوَابَهُ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ مِنْ كُلِّ أُسْبُوعٍ. وَيَبِيعُ فِيهِ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَثَلَاثُونَ مُزَارِعًا بَحْرَيْنِيًّا مَا يَنْمُو فِي مَزَارِعِهِمْ. عِنْدَ الْمُزَارِعِينَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ مِئَةِ نَوْعٍ مِنَ الْخُضَارِ وَالْفَاكِهَةِ الطَّازَجَةِ. هُنَاكَ طَمَاطِمُ نَضِجَتْ تَحْتَ الشَّمْسِ، وَخُضَارٌ وَرَقِيَّةٌ مُقَرْمَشَةٌ. وَهُنَاكَ أَعْشَابٌ لَهَا رَائِحَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ. وَيَبِيعُ الْمُزَارِعُونَ أَيْضًا مُنْتَجَاتٍ بَحْرَيْنِيَّةً تَقْلِيدِيَّةً، وَأَعْمَالًا يَدَوِيَّةً، وَأَطْعِمَةً مِنْ صُنْعِهِمْ. تَأْتِي إِلَى السُّوقِ عَائِلَاتٌ كَثِيرَةٌ، وَزُوَّارٌ مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ وَمِنْ خَارِجِهَا. فِي السُّوقِ يَلْتَقِي النَّاسُ بِالْمُزَارِعِينَ الَّذِينَ زَرَعُوا الطَّعَامَ. يَتَكَلَّمُونَ مَعَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَخْتَارُونَ الْخُضَارَ وَالْفَاكِهَةَ الطَّازَجَةَ. وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَشْتَرُونَهَا مِنَ الْمُزَارِعِينَ مُبَاشَرَةً. وَهَكَذَا يُسَاعِدُ السُّوقُ الْمُزَارِعِينَ الْبَحْرَيْنِيِّينَ، وَيَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ طَعَامًا نَمَا فِي بَلَدِهِمْ. وَفِي السُّوقِ وَرَشَاتُ عَمَلٍ خَاصَّةٌ لِلْأَطْفَالِ. فِي هَذِهِ الْوَرَشَاتِ يَتَعَلَّمُ الْأَطْفَالُ الزِّرَاعَةَ، وَيَزْرَعُونَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ. وَهِيَ دُرُوسٌ عَنْ زِرَاعَةٍ لَا تَضُرُّ الْأَرْضَ. وَيَتَعَلَّمُ الْأَطْفَالُ أَيْضًا كَيْفَ يُحَافِظُونَ عَلَى الْبِيئَةِ. وَمَعَ الْوَقْتِ صَارَ السُّوقُ مَكَانًا مَحْبُوبًا فِي عُطْلَةِ نِهَايَةِ الْأُسْبُوعِ. وَفِي الصَّبَاحِ تَمْتَلِئُ الْحَدِيقَةُ بِالنَّاسِ وَبِرَائِحَةِ الْأَعْشَابِ. وَفِي آخِرِ الصَّبَاحِ يَرْجِعُ النَّاسُ إِلَى بُيُوتِهِمْ، وَمَعَهُمْ خُضَارٌ طَازَجَةٌ مِنَ الْمَزَارِعِ.
In Bahrain there is a market for farmers called “the Bahraini Farmers Market”. The market is in the Budaiya Botanical Garden, and it opens its doors on Saturday every week. In it thirty-three Bahraini farmers sell what grows on their farms. The farmers have more than a hundred kinds of fresh vegetables and fruit. There are tomatoes that ripened under the sun, and crisp leafy greens. And there are herbs that have a lovely smell. The farmers also sell traditional Bahraini products, handicrafts, and food they make themselves. Many families come to the market, and visitors from Bahrain and from outside it. In the market people meet the farmers who grew the food. They talk with them, then they choose the fresh vegetables and fruit. After that they buy them from the farmers directly.
