الصَّمُّونُ الْعِرَاقِيُّ

هَذَا صَمُّونٌ. الصَّمُّونُ خُبْزٌ مِنَ الْعِرَاقِ. هُوَ خُبْزٌ صَغِيرٌ وَرَخِيصٌ. شَكْلُ الصَّمُّونِ مُعَيَّنٌ. هَذَا الشَّكْلُ مِثْلُ شَكْلِ الْمَاسِ. فِي بَغْدَادَ مَخْبَزٌ لِلصَّمُّونِ. بَغْدَادُ مَدِينَةٌ كَبِيرَةٌ فِي الْعِرَاقِ. الْمَخْبَزُ فِي شَارِعِ الرَّشِيدِ. فِي الْمَخْبَزِ خَبَّازٌ وَفُرْنٌ. الْفُرْنُ مِنَ الطُّوبِ. الْخَبَّازُ يَصْنَعُ صَمُّونًا كَثِيرًا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ. وَيَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَصْنَعُ صَمُّونًا أَكْثَرَ. هُوَ يَخْلِطُ الطَّحِينَ وَالْخَمِيرَةَ وَالْمَاءَ. وَأَحْيَانًا يَضَعُ قَلِيلًا مِنَ الْمِلْحِ. ثُمَّ يَضَعُ الْخَبَّازُ الصَّمُّونَ فِي الْفُرْنِ. الصَّمُّونُ سَاخِنٌ مِنَ الْفُرْنِ. لِلْخُبْزِ قِشْرَةٌ مُقَرْمَشَةٌ. وَدَاخِلُ الْخُبْزِ سَاخِنٌ جِدًّا. يُحِبُّ النَّاسُ فِي الْعِرَاقِ الصَّمُّونَ السَّاخِنَ. يَأْكُلُ النَّاسُ الصَّمُّونَ مَعَ اللَّحْمِ أَوِ الْأَرُزِّ. وَأَحْيَانًا يَفْتَحُ النَّاسُ الصَّمُّونَ. ثُمَّ يَضَعُ النَّاسُ فِيهِ الْفَلَافِلَ وَالْخُضَارَ. الْفَلَافِلُ وَالْخُضَارُ دَاخِلَ الْخُبْزِ. هَذَا طَعَامٌ سَرِيعٌ وَرَخِيصٌ. الصَّمُّونُ فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فِي الْعِرَاقِ. يَأْكُلُهُ النَّاسُ فِي الْبَيْتِ وَفِي الشَّارِعِ. هُوَ خُبْزٌ مُهِمٌّ لِكُلِّ النَّاسِ.

This is samoon. Samoon is bread from Iraq. It is a small, inexpensive bread. Samoon’s shape is a rhombus (diamond shape). This shape is like the shape of a diamond. In Baghdad there is a bakery for samoon. Baghdad is a big city in Iraq. The bakery is on Al-Rashid Street. There is a baker and an oven in the bakery. The oven is made of brick. The baker makes a lot of samoon every day. On Friday he makes more samoon. He mixes flour, yeast, and water. Sometimes he adds a little salt. Then the baker puts the samoon in the oven. Samoon is hot from the oven. The bread has a crunchy crust. The inside of the bread is very hot. People in Iraq love hot samoon. People eat samoon with meat or rice. Sometimes people open the samoon. Then people put falafel and vegetables in it. The falafel and vegetables are inside the bread. This is quick, inexpensive food. Samoon is everywhere in Iraq. People eat it at home and in the street. It is an important bread for everyone.
